Marion Eisenmann was born in Ingolstadt, Germany. Early on she developed a passion for life, arts and music. She was just another five year old that went to a local festival with her parents and she walked by a tent that advertised a drawing contest. First price was a set of colored pencils. “Those pencils to me were like gold to the early prospectors.” In less than an hour, young Marion had finished her drawing of a Brazilian jungle and miraculously won first prize.

Once old enough Marion Eisenmann studied Communications-Design at the FHM (University Of Applied Sciences) in Munich. After an exchange semester in Finland she accomplished her thesis project at the VW/Audi Design Center in Simi Valley, California, for which she earned her Bachelor's degree. After accomplishing a series of lifestyle illustrations for a German daily paper Marion freelanced in graphic design, worked for brand strategist Mike Salisbury, and ventured through California with the creative team of CP Productions, shooting the BMW 7 series.

After studying for her MFA at Cal State Fullerton, where Marion Eisenmann also got involved in teaching, she began working for the entertainment industry, creating storyboards, characters and concept art. In 2005 she was “welcomed aboard” the pre-production team of the feature film Outlander, where she had the opportunity to collaborate with acclaimed storyboard and concept artists. This led her into the world of storyboarding for independent films. In the summer of 2009, she will be teaching a storyboarding class at Art Center Night, in Pasadena, California.

As she matured, it became important for her to use her gifts towards a more purposeful end beyond commercial success. Motivated by a sense of moral responsibility to help others, by combining her love of whimsy and the use of metaphors, she became involved in illustrations of an editorial nature as well as children's books. However, she is not dogmatic about these ideas and remains a risk-taker, open and flexible to developing her art. So when Paramount Studios approached her to do a series of fashion illustrations for a television show, she agreed.

In addition to her professional life, Marion enjoys socializing, outdoor sports and playing the violin.

ABOUT HERSELF

Drawing and sketching have always aided me in studying and analyzing people. Observation allows me to capture the essence of their nature, revealing positive and negative aspects. In general, I rely on my talent, practice and intuition. The distinct line work of my drawings I would describe as whimsical, dynamic and innocent. But there are times when my pencil seems to flow in an unpredictable manner, flying free but never retracing its path. Much like when I dive into water. When I draw, I feel the release of endorphins and I experience a sense of euphoria that I want to share with others through my work. Drawing helps me remain centered and clear, never stagnate.”
